Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games Latvian team will have 33 athletes!

Summer Olympics 2016 will be held from 5 to 21 August in the Brazilian Rio de Janeiro.

Olympic competitions will be held in more than 30 sports:
Rowing: qualification - from 6 to 11, finals - 13 and 14 August
Badminton: qualification - from 6 to 10, finals - from 11 to 14 August
Basketball: qualification - from 6 to 19, finals - 20 and 21 August
Boxing: qualification - from 6 to 19, finals - 20 and 21 August
Fighting: 12 through August 20
Cycling (including track and road races, mountain bike and BMX): from 6 to 20 August
Water sports (water polo, swimming, diving and synchronized swimming): qualification from 6 to 18, 17 and the finals on August 20
Volleyball and beach volleyball: qualification - from 6 to 17, finals - from 18 to 21 August
Football: qualification - from 6 to 19, finals - 20 and 21 August
Golf: qualification - from 6 to 14, 9 finals and 15  August
Canoe Sprint: qualification - 7-9 and 16-19, 8-10 finals on August 20-21
Gymnastics - sports, rhythmic gymnastics and trampoline

At the Olympics 2016 Latvian athletes to participate in 11 sports. The most numerous - track and field team consisting of 15 athletes. The youngest athlete in the national team is 17-year-old Kition Birzula. Debut Games 2016 will be for 11 athletes.
